How long have you been in business?
New to Health Insurance, but not new to the community. I started with US Health group in November of this past year. I am trying to establish long term relationships, assisting customers in and around where I live.
What is your primary product or service?
We offer several health insurance options. Each program is tailored to the individual and their budget concerns. Our association, which is the group buying power for our excellent rates and discounts with Cigna-Great Western PPO group, also offers members services and discounts to enhance their business life, personal life, and wellness. We even have a guaranteed issue program for those who may have pre-existing conditions. We do offer supplemental products such as life insurance, income protection, dental coverage to complement the insurance programs. All our programs guarantee that there will be no premium increase for three full years which is unique. And all of our programs fulfill the new healthcare laws requirement.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
I have always worked in areas requiring a high degree of personal contact and customer service focus. I always like to learn new things, so the opportunity seemed ready made for a change. I also really appreciate how confusing and frustrating all the media hype is regarding the new health care laws. It is an area where lack of understanding is creating unnecessary anxiety and fear. Education is a huge part of this industry, making sure people are properly covered and understand how that works in their day to day life.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
I do not get involved in auto insurance, homeowners insurance at all. The supplemental products that I use are merely to minimize the impact of deductible, co-pay and out of pocket expenses related to medical insurance and medical expenses. My focus is specifically on making healthcare workable protection and understandable. I also leave he legal programs to other professionals. I feel that by concentrating on one specific aspect, I can be the most up to date and accurate in the information and products that I provide.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
I am an independent contractor, working under the regional office of US Health Group in Elgin, IL, but to be honest, I am kind of a mobile operation....my car is my office, as I strive to meet my clients at their convenience, not disrupting their work day. At present, I am content to work at this on my own.
